Kremlin: Wall Street Journal report - which suggested that Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout was trying to broker the sale of small arms to Houthi militants - is fake.

Russia on Tuesday reiterated its support for the Yemeni government in various fields, a day after US reports on the completion of a Russian arms deal for the Houthi group, which is responsible for threatening maritime security in the region.

The official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) said that Foreign Minister Shua'a al-Zindani discussed with the Chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy, Yevgeny Kudrov, the latest political developments in Yemen and the Middle East, and ways to achieve peace, security and stability.

The meeting also discussed “bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to promote them at all levels, and issues of common interest at the regional and international levels.”

The meeting comes after Russia denied accusations and press reports that it was supplying weapons to the Houthi group in Yemen, in response to ongoing US support for Ukraine.
