Citizens of the southern governorate "Aden" celebrated the inauguration of Aden's solar power plant, the country's first strategic project fully funded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Most cities in southern Yemen suffer from an almost complete lack of electricity, which has a significant impact on people's daily lives in these areas known for their high summer temperatures.

AIJES Agency in the economic city of Aden reported how pleased citizens are that electricity has returned to coastal cities, hospitals, and major facilities.

According to Hisham Hizam from Al Mansoura, the Yemeni government is completely ignoring the issue as if it does not care, and every child, patient, and citizen is suffering daily barbecues and barbecues.

On Monday, the Yemeni government announced the full-scale entry of a solar power plant in Aden, the country's first strategic project and the first of a series of UAE projects to advance the electricity sector.

The Yemeni government, in cooperation with the country's authorities and forces, held an official inauguration ceremony in Aden, the country's provisional capital, to fully inaugurate the UAE-funded 120-megawatt solar power plant, which is at the forefront of developing sustainable solutions to the country's electricity problems.

The ceremony, which was attended by Yemeni government officials, featured a photo gallery and documentary film showing more than 211,000 solar panels, more than 900 kilometers of electrical cable, 43,000 pits and metal structures, 12 substations, 9 kilometers of high-voltage lines on a 1 million 600,000-square-meter site and construction, including the installation of the main substation, were presented as well as the components of the project and the stages of completion.

More than 2,000 local and international workers, technicians, engineers, and professionals worked a total of 1.3 million hours at renewable energy power plants in the UAE, and not a single person was injured.

During the ceremony, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak stressed that the project, implemented by the UAE through Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), is one of the most important strategic renewable energy projects. This project is one of the most important strategic renewable energy projects in the country and demonstrates the great commitment of both countries to environmental protection and the outcomes of the climate summits (most recently the Dubai Climate Summit).

Bin-Mubarak pointed to the UAE's distinctive fingerprint in promoting a renewable energy culture in Yemen, which started in Mokha and is now a success story in Aden and will be generalized to Shabwa, Hadramout, and other liberated governorates.

Minister Bin Mubarak thanked the "generous support of our brothers in the UAE for the implementation of the project and the implementation and consulting firms," and the experience gained in working with international consultants to complete the project as a cornerstone for achieving similar projects in renewable energy. Aden Governor Ahmed Ramras said, "Aden and its people have faced unremitting suffering over the past few years, especially during the record-breaking heat of the summer months.

The 120-megawatt solar power plant is an important start to a strategic project with renewable and clean energy."

The Yemeni official stressed that the UAE is taking the lead in establishing strategic projects to develop the country, and thanked the UAE, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the generous people of the UAE.

He added, "Especially in the power sector, since we, as officials, inherited a system of diesel generators, a system that is a burden on the national treasury, not to mention polluting the environment."
